Cataract Surgery
Cataract surgery replaces an old, cloudy lens with a clear, artificial lens. In most cases, Christenbury surgeons use the no-stitch, no-needle technique that speeds recovery. With an onsite Ambulatory Surgery Center (outpatient surgery), you have no hospital parking decks or confusing hallways to navigate. Christenbury Eye Center accepts Medicare and most insurance plans for this procedure.
Adult Eye Care
Regular checkups ensure that you’re seeing your best. Christenbury Eye Center recommends that you have your eyes checked every three to five years, even if you’re not experiencing any problems. We check for a variety of eye problems, especially glaucoma, which is a disease of the optic nerve. If you need glasses or contacts, our staff can help ensure a proper fit.
Glaucoma Diagnosis and Treatment
We are the first in the Charlotte area to offer this treatment for our Glaucoma patients. Doctors have found the FDA-approved SLT (Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty) represents a dramatic improvement over traditional laser treatment for Glaucoma. SLT can be repeated as many times as necessary, and may eliminate or reduce your need for prescription eye drops.
Optical Shop
An onsite shop with expert assistance, our Optical Shop offers high quality products and the best in customer service. In most cases, your glasses can be ready in one hour. Led by a licensed optician, our highly-trained staff helps you select frames that fit you lifestyle and flatter your facial shape. Our designer frame lines include Gucci, Nautica, Escada, Ralph Lauren, Calvin Klein, Maui Jim, Elite, Nike, Oakley and Marchon (some brands excluded).
